"Get busy living, or get busy dying."
Today I'm feeling especially inspired to heed that quote - eh, the living part. At work lately, I've been writing some profiles for our alumni magazine, and after recounting such rich, diverse, adventurous lives, mine feels so stinkin' plain.
I know my life hasn't always been plain - heck, I'm the girl who married a guy she met online - but lately it's felt that way. I'm stuck in a rut. A very boring rut.
Let me share with you these people I've written about:
- A lady named Sue* who, after graduating at our college, taught at Temple, was a consultant for the Netherlands Ministry of Social Affairs, started a program at an American school in Germany, worked in Dubai, lectured in Italy, and volunteers for cancer patients after she survived cancer herself 13 years ago.
- A guy named Greg* who, after graduating, served in the military, served in Iraq, now teaches here, still is in the reserves, just served in Georgia this summer, and works at the medical examiner's office pro-bono, where he's helped with three murder cases.
- A lady named Janice* who was a secretary, went to college in 40s, got her journalism degree, was editor of the town newspaper, was in an Israeli dance troupe, started work here, and now that she's retiring, she's planning to compile her 32 years of journals into a Christian meditations book.
So, I am inspired. Need to take a class, maybe hang some art in our house, volunteer, serve at church, etc. Of course it makes soooo much sense to take on a new project right before the holidays, but I should make my move while the inspiration is fresh.
Hmmm...what to do......
*Names have been changed. Don't think our alums would want to be on some quirky girl's blog.

Join the club. Every year I help give money to people to travel around the world to learn new things while I stay here. Hopefully in the next couple of years, my family (or at least Don and I) can go on a mission trip through our church.
You'll find what to do...The important thing is that you're moving in the right direction & trying to find something...
